#YoMeEmpodero Campaing Co-created with Grantee Partners and Allies
Yo Me Empodero is the name of the campaign as part of the actvities for Internation Women’s Day, March 8, which The Central American Women’s Fund and its partners and allies co-created and mobilised in the region for a week (from 1 to 8 March) on social networks with the hashtag #YoMeEmpodero. Also with joined the global campaing by adding the hashtag #WeStop and #FeministStrike.
The message of the campaign is to rethink how we are using the word empowerment and how despite the different types of violence that women live, we stop, go out into the streets, fight and empower for a better future for ourselves and others.
Part of its purpose of this campaing is to raise awareness about the importance of the date, educate diverse populations about the concept of empowerment, highlight and show women’s stories, their struggles and achievements. In addition, both women and men, from different backgrounds and generations, to come together and ignite an awareness of the realities, challenges, issues and needs faced by women, in all of their diversities.
The campaign is self-managed and open to all organizations, collectives, groups and peoples who relate to its message.
From FCAM we share through our social networking sites posts containing information and raising awareness on the commemoration of March 8, as well as videos from our Partners. We also have invited our followers and allies to join the campaign through several direct online actions:
- Take a selfie holding a sign with the hashtag #YoMeEmpodero and upload it to their social network sites. Remember to tag the FCAM in any publication you make.
- Upload a video (1 min. max) sending a empoweing message to other women. Use the hashtag #YoMeEmpodero.
- Join the tweet on wednesday, march 7 at 11:00 am and at 6:00 pm.
On March 8, and to culminate the campaign, we will join the international strike and the march in Nicaragua, from which we will share a ‘Facebook Live’ post.
