The FCAM and its Partners Launch the Campaign #YoSoyVos
Yo Soy Vos is the name of the campaign that The Central American Women’s Fund and its partner organisations co-created and mobilised through social networks, from March 22, 2016, with the hashtag #YoSoyVos, as part of the activities for International Women’s Day, March 8, 2017.
The campaign has a direct message: It calls for unity between peoples through empathy, to recognise the reality faced by other women: the migrant, the student, the peasant, the human rights activist, the transsexual and transgender women, the sex worker, the indigenous… Me and you, we all are
Part of its purpose is for both women and men, from different backgrounds and generations, to come together and ignite an awareness of the realities, challenges, issues and needs faced by women, in all of their diversities. An exercise that invites us to ‘walk in her shoes’
The campaign is self-managed and open to all organizations, collectives, groups and peoples who relate to its message. Several partners from Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Guatemala have sent videos and photographs alongside their messages. Nothing stood in the way of this collective effort to propel the voices, realities and demands of women from Partner organisations!
From FCAM we share through our social networking sites posts containing information and raising awareness on the commemoration of March 8, as well as videos from our Partners. We also have invited our followers to join the campaign through several direct online actions:
- Take a selfie holding a sign with the hashtag #YoSoyVos and upload it to their social network sites.
- Upload a video (1 min. max) with a message to other women.
- Share in their social network sites (with the hashtag #YoSoyVos) a post naming those women that have influenced, inspired and impacted in their lives.
On March 8, and to culminate the campaign, we will join the international strike and the march in Nicaragua, from which we will share a ‘Facebook Live’ post.
